DREAMS COME TRUE
The department of Commerce and
management of Kalinga University Raipur organized ‘FIRST STEP-2021’,
a stupendous induction for the students of Bachelor of Commerce, session
2021-22 on Tuesday, 21st September, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The new
academic session for newly admitted students for the Bachelor of Commerce
program began with a gracious welcome ceremony hosted on a virtual platform.
The students were delighted by the warm welcome they got and instantly felt a
sense of belonging. A presentation was then given to them about Kalinga
University's academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities, as well
as its establishment in Chhattisgarh as one of the premier private universities
in Central India.
Following a ceremonial welcome, the
freshers were then taken for a journey to Kalinga University through a video
presentation that introduced them to life at Kalinga University, both within
and beyond the classroom. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. R.
Shridhar, Director General, Dr. Byju John, Deputy Registrar, Mr. Kumar Shwetabh,
Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Asha Ambhaikar, Dean Academic Affairs, Mr. Rahul
Mishra, Deans and Heads of various Departments, and all faculty members were
present for the gracious ceremony.
Mr. Vishesh Dua, CA/CS was the
special Guest for the occasion. The event began with Sarasvati Vandana by seeking
blessings form the Goddess of Wisdom, followed by a warm greeting from the
masters of ceremony, Mr. Kapil Kelkar
and Ms. Shreya Dwivedi. On this note, Ms.
Vassavi, a student in the University’s B.Sc. programme, performed a
welcoming dance.
Mr.KumarShwetabh, DeputyRegistrar of the University, gave a welcome address on the occasion and informed the students about the university's regulatory status, honors, and goal
to reach new heights.He also referred to the achievement of University Students
and encourage them on education in his inspiring style. He concluded by
inviting the students to be an intrinsic part of the University, evincing their
talents on all University platforms. The
Deputy Registrar’s welcome address was followed by a motivational speech by Dr.
Shridhar, Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Dr. Shridhar introduced the students to various options for furthering their education. He
insisted on implementing university’s platform for talent and wisdom
development through hands- on training and a solid curriculum. He inspired them
by emphasizing the importance of academic and professional skills for achieving
the ultimate goal of success. The Vice-Chancellor’s speech was followed by a
virtual Fashion Show exhibited by the students of Kalinga University. This
was followed by the words of blessings by Dr.
Byju John, Director General of Kalinga University.
Dr. Byju John
said that the establishment of
higher education traditions highlights a nation’s golden era. He emphasized
that Kalinga University has developed and into a process of re-energizing
higher education in Chhattisgarh. He concluded his speech by encouraging the
students to link passion with the purpose of their lives, building a community
network and focusing on their holistic growth.
The Director General’s address was
followed by a the enthusiastic and encouraging remarks of Mr. Vishesh Dua, Chief Guest for the occasion. He encouraged the
students to realize their potential. This potential adds value to life
experiences that everyone must rely on for the enhancement and advancement of
oneself. He stressed on overcoming the fear of failure for optimal growth. He
emphasized that Kalinga University is definitely the best platform for getting
the young minds nurtured.
The events were then followed by a
presentation from Mr. Kapil Kelkar
and Shreya Dwivedi, who then
introduced the newcomers to the Deans, as well as Heads of Departments. The
occasion then moved to the enthusiastic dance performance of University
students, Ritik and Group that was co-ordinated by Mr. Omprakash Dewangan.
The students were then addressed by Dr. Monika Sethi, Dean- Faculty of
Commerce and Management. She highlighted Kalinga University’ state- of-the art
facilities for infrastructure development, its digital library with a variety
of books, contemporary classrooms for flipped teaching methodology. Dr. Sethi stated
that the development had always focused in creating an integrated atmosphere
for better comprehension of the basic principles of trade and how students can
enhance professional and technical knowledge by continuous counseling and
guidance. Commerce is one of the important professional streams that cater to
the economic and management-centric approach for developing new corporate
personalities.
The University supplements this by
providing a vast array of opportunities, and students can participate in a
variety of activities that await their participation at the University. The
speech was followed by a stunning dance performance by International students
of the University.
Mr. Rahul Mishra, Dean Academic Affairs, assured each and every student for their deserved
value and their quality to bring something new and exciting this diverse
learning community. He concluded his speech by giving some advice on how to get
the most out of their time at Kalinga University. Ms. Anjali Swamy then coordinated quizzes, reasoning’s, and riddles
for the students that was followed by a
session with Ms. Urshita Baranwal,
the University coordinator. The event was then followed by a traditional dance
of Chhattisgarh that was performed by the students of Kalinga University
students and was coordinated by Mr. Omprakash Dewangan. This was followed by an
online Talent round for newly admitted students that was coordinated by Mr. Kapil Kelkar and Ms. Shreya Dwivedi.
Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Asha Ambhaikar, extended a vote of
appreciation at the end of the induction Program, followed by a group
photograph and student feedback. Mr. Kapil Kelkar and Ms. Shreya Dwivedi
successfully conducted the program. The students showed great enthusiasm for
this program that was fueled with curiosity and were looking forward eagerly
for a fresh start at kalinga University. They conveyed their appreciation and
gratitude for the fruitful Induction Program. The wonderful event ended with
the beats of music opening the golden doorway to the future of our newly
admitted students.
